Bruch’s deeply expressive Kol Nidrei is built on two traditional Hebrew melodies. Written in 1880 for the Jewish community in Liverpool – where Bruch served as Principal Conductor of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra – the piece showcases the cello’s most lyrical, song-like qualities, creating a moment of quiet intensity and reflection within the programme.

Alongside it, enjoy Vaughan Williams’ soaring masterpiece The Lark Ascending – a meditative, pastoral work that captures the stillness and poetry of the English landscape.

A deeply atmospheric and memorable evening of music this spring.
